About the classroom:

We are a fourth, fifth and sixth grade classroom consisting of twenty-four children.  We have a guinea pig named Oliver who loves to be held and listen to students read.  During any given day, you will find us focused on math, reading, science and culture!

About me:

I obtained teaching degree from Winona State University and my Montessori Certification from the Center of Contemporary Montessori Programs at Saint Catherine's University.  I have been an elementary teacher for 23 years!  I currently live in Winona with my husband, two daughters.

Currently studying:

We are currently studying Early Humans, Ancient Mesopotamia and Native Americans in Culture.  Types of cells and the Animal Kingdom in science.  Our math studies are taking us in the areas of division, fractions, greatest common factors, lowest common multiples geometric solids, triangles, squares, similarity, congruence and equivalency.  Our fourth graders will be starting the The BFG soon, while the fifth graders are reading Bridge to Terabithia, and the sixth graders are enjoying The Westing Game!
